KIC Development, LLC (KICD) was formed as a subsidiary of its parent company Kikiktagruk Inupiat corporation (KIC) headquartered in Kotzebue, Alaska, (KIC) in 2002.

Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation (KIC) as a village corporation was created pursuant to the terms of the Alaskan Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA).  There are currently 1,953 KIC Shareholders.
